We recommend a certified charging block with an output of 5V, 0.5A, or above to use with all of our scales. All Acaia scales come with their own charging protection and will automatically stop charging when the battery is fully charged.
It is ok to charge with a USB wall charger with higher power capability, such as 5V 2A. It is also acceptable to charge with a USB wall charger that supports certified fast charge for phones, like Samsung phone chargers (they will switch between 9V/5V automatically).
The charging block that comes with your mobile device is safe to use for charging your Acaia scales. If you plan on purchasing a charging block, we recommend purchasing from a big box store like Best Buy or Target and avoiding purchasing from Amazon. Some charging blocks on Amazon and other websites have forged certifications and could potentially damage your scale's board and battery.
