Some scales are notoriously bad (unstable) when heat is placed on them; have you addressed this?

Yes. Scales are prone to heat because of the load cell (sensor). This is always a challenge for scale makers. We do our best to minimize the effect of the heat by designing a double-layered upper surface, as well as by using a different type of sensor. For best results, we highly recommend you use a heat resistant pad under hot objects while weighing, such as the provided silicone pad.
